Night
For nighttime IR signaling, use GITD with the SAR “buzzsaw” technique (pictured *3-1). For low-light navigation like map reading, use the GITD panel against the map’s surface. For nighttime signaling against light, use the 3M reflective panel.
Day
For daytime signaling, one side is set in genuine 3M material. The 3M material is made of encapsulated lens material called SOLAS. It has been primarily designed to enhance the visibility of life support equipment. 3M SOLAS works as a highly reflective mirror in daytime environments.
